ARSENAL AND NEWCASTLE JOIN WEST HAM IN REGISTERING INTEREST IN MONACO’S YOUSSOUF FOFANA
According to L’Équipe, Arsenal and Newcastle United have joined West Ham United in showing an interest in AS Monaco midfielder Youssouf Fofana (24).
L’Équipe first reported West Ham’s interest in the France international earlier this month. The Hammers may see Fofana, valued at around €35m by Les Monégasques, as a replacement for Declan Rice, who has been strongly linked with a move to Arsenal and Manchester City.
However, there is now fresh interest in the former Strasbourg midfielder, who will be allowed to leave the Principality club this summer should a reasonable offer arrive. According to the French publication, Arsenal and Newcastle are the latest clubs to register an interest. Despite the interest, no club is in a hurry to conclude a deal and concrete moves to sign the player have not yet been initiated.
The Premier League sides may also face competition from Serie A with Inter Milan and AS Roma also linked with a move for Fofana.
