Mechanic, 7-year-old crushed to death in Ogun
An auto-mechanic and a seven-year-old boy were Tuesday reportedly crushed to death by a truck in Ogun State.
The incident happened around 10.11am at Oke Ore, the Sango-Ota-Owode Expressway, Ogun State.
It was gathered that the driver of the truck lost the control of the vehicle and ran over the victims working by the roadside.
The mechanic was said to have died instantly, while the seven-year-old boy died in a hospital where he was rushed to after the incident.
The Public Relations Officer, Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps, Babatunde Akinbiyi, confirming the incident, said the driver had been arrested.
He said, “We learnt that the seven-year-old boy was with the mechanic by the roadside when the driver of the truck, who was speeding, lost control of the vehicle and crushed the two of them.
“Our personnel, who went to the scene of the accident, said the relatives of the auto mechanic had claimed his corpse.
“The driver of the vehicle is still with the police at the Owode division.”
