United Fans Has Told Their Cult Hero Ighalo To return to China and Secure the big money bag offered to him
Shanghai Shenhua have offered Odion Ighalo a new contract worth more than £75m over four years, and he is likely to leave Manchester United this summer, according to The Times via @utdreport.
Ighalo was initially drafted in on loan to cover for Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial, although he has exceeded all expectations so far, scoring 4 goals in 8 appearances in all competitions for the Red Devils.
The Nigerian’s deal is set to expire in a matter of days and Ed Woodward has failed to reach an agreement with his parent club to extend his stay in England until the end of the season.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had hoped to keep Ighalo for the remaining fixtures, but it is worth remembering the club legend has a dearth of attacking options at his disposal.
Indeed, the 30-year-old’s probable departure could provide Solskjaer with an opportunity to test the talents already available to him, including the likes of Mason Greenwood and Anthony Martial.
Moreover, Marcus Rashford has fully recovered from injury, so it is unlikely Ighalo will be sorely missed on the pitch, as he failed to find the back of the net during the games he played in the Premier League. The England international has bagged 14 goals in 22 matches in the English top flight at the time of writing.
In response to this news, loads of United fans have urged the “cult hero” to accept this staggering offer, with one supporter tweeting it is a “no brainer,” and another bizarrely pleading with the board to “let him go.”
