72 health workers test positive for coronavirus in Enugu

Enugu State Ministry of Health says 72 health care workers in the state have tested positive for coronavirus (COVID-19).

Commissioner for health, Dr Ikechukwu Obi, in a statement on Friday, said the 72 health workers were among a total of 202 that have tested positive in Enugu.

Obi also confirmed 28 new COVID-19 cases in the state which the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) announced on Thursday night.

The commissioner said the total laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 cases in Enugu are 202 with 154 cases on treatment and 43 cases discharged.

He said the state has five confirmed deaths related to COVID-19.

Obi advised residents to take the disease seriously and follow protocols given by the NCDC.
