Angry Nigerians Vandalise Nigerian Embassy in Indonesia


Nigerians in Indonesia are reported to have vandalized the Nigerian Embassy in the capital city of Jakarta a few days after the embassy in Ghana was attacked.

According to online media reports, people in connection to these acts of vandalism are Nigerians living in the S outheast Asian and Oceania country who feel they are being neglected by the government and the consular hence their decision to attack the embassy.

A video making rounds on social media shows the bizarre activities carried out by the protestors. Items destroyed include a bus, windows and doors of the embassy including the Nigerian flag. Geoffrey Onyeama, the Minister of Foreign Affairs has condemned the act and the protestors on twitter saying;
“Absolutely deplorable and disgraceful criminal behaviour by Nigerian hooligans who without justification attacked the Nigerian Embassy in Jakarta, Indonesia today.
“Every effort will be made to identify them and see they are severely punished. Totally unacceptable behaviour.”
However, he has promised to bring the perpetrators of these activities before the law.
