Guru stole from college fund of NBA star Jason Kidd’s ex-wife: feds
A serial scammer who touts herself as a luxury lifestyle guru embezzled more than $1 million from former NBA star Jason Kidd’s ex-wife, who was setting aside cash to send her kids to college, Manhattan prosecutors and a police source said Friday.
Tracii Show-Hutsona — who goes by the names “traci boss” and “the official breakfast b—ch” on social media — met Joumana Kidd, 48, in 2015 when she was hired by her to be a personal assistant and concierge in California, according to the source and a criminal complaint filed in Manhattan federal court.
Hutsona billed herself as a concierge who could supply clients with luxury vehicles, private planes and vacation rentals through her company, Elite Lux Life, prosecutors said.
Soon after Hutsona started working for Joumana, the suspect allegedly began swiping dough by transferring funds first from the victim’s bank account into a kiddie college savings account — then from there, to accounts controlled by Hutsona.
Hutsona also used credit and debit cards linked to Joumana’s accounts to fund trips to nightclubs and stays at luxury hotels and to buy jewelry and other luxury items, the feds and source said.
Tracii Show-Hutsona was previously convicted for ripping off a Japanese staffing agency in 2008.
The suspect attempted to cover up the theft after she was fired in 2019 by sending a falsified “notarized” document to a New York bank that purported to show her having been given power of attorney over her victim’s bank accounts, court papers said.
Hutsona, who was convicted in 2008 of ripping off a Japanese staffing agency, faces wire fraud and identity-theft charges.
Joumana Kidd split from her former New Jersey Nets star hubby in 2007. She could not be reached for comment Friday.
“Hutsona afforded herself the same swanky accommodations she promised her clientele – only she did so with their money,” US Attorney Audrey Strauss said in a statement.
“Thanks to our partners at the NYPD and U.S. Secret Service, Tracii Show-Hutsona’s alleged high-flying confidence scheme has now been grounded, and she faces embezzlement charges in federal court,” Strauss said.
