We’re Battle Ready To Face Everton
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp says his side is more than ready to face an Everton team in search of their first win in an away derby for 22 years.
The Reds are heading into this fixture on a positive note, as they grabbed a crucial triumph against RB Leipzig in the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 first leg.
The reigning champions have been going through a rough patch for quite a while now, and they are well aware of the fact that from now on, they need to be steady enough for the remaining games to ensure their spot in the top four of the league table.
Speaking with the club website, Klopp said that the team is battle-ready to face Everton at Anfield.
“I never thought about those kinds of things, it is the right moment to play Everton, that’s how it is,” Klopp said. “We will be ready.
“We play the way we play. It is very emotional, but we always are emotional. That is our way to play.
“What the other team does, I have no influence. I have nothing to say about that.
“I can imagine after the first game you try to create some stories around that, but we are prepared for a football game – a derby – like we always did.
“Nobody can ever say this team was not ready for derbies from an attitude point of view, or from an understanding point of view.
“This team always was and will be tomorrow. There are stories around, but I have nothing to say.”
