Donny van de Beek 'wants Manchester United exit'

The Netherlands international, who joined Manchester United with great promise, has started just two games under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer this season.

According to the Daily Star, Van de Beek has had enough and is ready to quit the Red Devils. He’s not getting much of a look in at the moment and it’s hard to see a way for him to break the preferred Fred-McTominay midfield combo.

The former Ajax midfielder reportedly plans to hold showdown talks with United’s executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward before the end of the season to question why he hasn’t been selected to play more games.

Furthermore, the report adds that rumours are circulating over whether Solskjaer wanted to sign Van de Beek to begin with, and the Netherlands international is fearing for his spot at the Euros in the wake of his Old Trafford nightmare.

In total, Van de Beek has turned out 26 times for United across all competitions this term, bagging one Premier League goal and one EFL Cup assist for the Red Devils.

Van de Beek, 23, has received much advice from his compatriots this season, with many believing he should leave Man United as his lack of game time could damage his chances of Euro selection.

Marco van Basten claimed the midfielder shouldn't have moved to Old Trafford, saying it was "a really bad" decision and that it was "shocking" for his rhythm.

Rafael van der Vaart, meanwhile, said he "wouldn't have stood for it" if had been put into a similar situation by a manager upon joining a new club.

And finally, Ronald de Boer, whose brother Frank is now Holland boss, claimed that Van de Beek "may have to declare that he should be loaned or even sold" if his position at United doesn't improve.
