BREAKING: Unknown gunmen attack Enugu police station, kill officers
The war on security operatives in the south eastern part of the country continues as unknown gunmen attacked a Divisional Police Headquarters in Adani, Uzo-Uwani Local Government Area of Enugu State.
The attack was said to have happened in the early hours of Wednesday.
Two of the police officers on duty were reportedly killed and several others injured, while the police station was burnt.
Although the state police command confirmed the attack, it said the details would be made available later.
MuchTalksBlog gathered that the attack on the police station started about 2:30 am and lasted till about 3:30 am.
When contacted, the State Police Public Relations Officer, Daniel Ndukwe, said, “Yes, there is a report of an attack on Adani Divisional Police station this early morning. However, the details of the incident are still sketchy.”
In recent weeks, Police stations in the South East and some states in the South-South have been attacked by gunmen.
The latest incident took place on Monday, April 19 as unidentified hoodlums razed the zone 13 police headquarters in Ukpo, Anambra state.
