It’s Mentally And Emotionally Draining To Be Gay In Nigeria – Bisi Alimi Says
Nigerian gay activist Bisi Alimi has shared how mentally and emotionally draining it is to be gay in Nigeria sharing in detail what you wish to do but don’t because of the life and respect for others.
According to Bisi Alimi, being gay in Nigeria means you can’t promote the businesses of your friends on social media because some people might think the other is also gay and sometimes you can’t even post pictures with your friends because of the stigma.
Bisi Alimi made us understand that the moment you come out as gay, most things change as you can’t even live a normal life on social media just as everyone just because you don’t want to jeopardize the life of the other person.
Most people think gays rolls with gays hence whoever to see with a gay automatically turns out to be gay to them and that makes it difficult for gays to share or flaunt their friends and loved ones who aren’t gay asking the homophobes to own their own hatred.
It’s really sad to know that being gay in some parts of African means you have been excommunicated because it will not be easy to decide to flaunt or talk about your family and love ones just because you don’t want them to be misjudged.
