Man Arrested For R*ping Own Daughter In Ondo

The Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Command in Ondo state says it has detained a 45-year-old guy, Adebisi Akinola, for allegedly raping his daughter for approximately three years.

The state Commandant of the NSCDC, Mr. Pedro Awili, disclosed this while talking with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday, in Akure.

Awili said Akinola had been abusing his daughter sexually because she turned 15 at 2015.

He noticed that when the victim could no longer cope with the set of misuse, she hurried into the NSCDC to get help.

“Akinola has confessed to the crime, he agreed that he has been sleeping with his daughter for three years now.

“Likewise his daughter also confirmed the ugly incident in the course of our interrogation which helped us to quickly nab the suspect,” he said.

The commandant said the suspect would be charged to court as soon as the investigation was completed.

Awili condemned high incidents of rape involving minors in the state and warned parents, especially fathers to desist from such act which he described as barbaric, crude and a great offense against God.

Also speaking, the victim said she had earlier reported the case to her paternal aunt, but regretted that no meaningful step was taken to address the problem.

“I once told my aunt about the harassment from him, but she could not do anything about it, instead it got worse.

“I beg you to help warn him not to sleep with me again because I don’t want him to be jailed because of me,” she said.

Akinola admitted sleeping with his daughter, saying it was the handiwork of the devil.
