EndSARS: Justice Should Be Swift – Femi Kuti Tells Police Over Dying Of Kolade Johnson
Femi Kuti, Son of Music legend, Fela has reacted to an announcement by Nigeria police over the dying of Kolade Johnson.
Kolade was alleged to have been shot by a member of a police group, whereas he was watching a Premier League fixture between Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur in Lagos on Sunday.
Johnson’s dying has since sparked widespread criticism , with a renewed name on the Federal Government to finish the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad (F-SARS) unit of the police.
Speaking on the event, the Lagos Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bala Elkana, in an announcement stated suspects have been arrested and an investigation begun into the matter.
But Kuti reacting to assertion by Police on his Twitter web page referred to as on the pressure to serve fast justice to the suspects answerable for Kolade’s dying.
He wrote: “Justice should be swift and should function a direct deterrent to mindless police brutality and extrajudicial killings.
“I’m over 50, but I think we should all raise over voices against injustice or it will swallow us all eventually. A peaceful protest organized very well count me in.”
