Sophie Turner Says She’s OK With Kit Harington Earning Three Times Her Pay

Sophie Turner has said that she has no problem with Kit Harrington earning three times what she earns.

The Game of Thrones star said this during a recent sit-down with Harper’s Bazaar where she spoke, among other things, about the inclusion rider in her contracts, meaning she’s looking to work with an even split of both men and women.

“Now you see women in the camera departments, producing, directing. It’s exciting,” she said. Despite this, she’s OK with Jon Snow actor Kit Harington receiving three times as much pay as her.

The lack of equal pay has been a controversial topic in the industry, but Turner said that the issue is “a little tricky” in her case. “Kit got more money than me, but he had a bigger storyline,” she explained. “And for the last series, he had something crazy like 70 night shoots, and I didn’t have that many. I was like, ‘You know what… you keep that money.'”

She, however, that she’s glad there are more executives in the industry “willing to listen to people saying, ‘I want the same amount of money.'”
