Breaking: Obaseki quits APC

Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo state has announced his resignation from the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.

The governor made the announcement on Tuesday, four days after he was disqualified from contesting the party’s primaries for the coming gubernatorial election in the state.

The embattled governor said he will in days to come announce the new political platform where he will be seeking his re-election.

Obaseki’s decision to quit the APC comes bare 48 hours after he was seen with Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State fuelling speculation that he is about to decamp to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
