NiDCOM Chairman, Abike Dabiri-Erewa Demands Thorough Investigation into Toyin Salau’s Death
Though one arrest has been made in connection to the murder of Toyin Salau, Abike Dabiri-Erewa wants a thorough investigation into her death.
In a statement signed by the Head of Media and Public Relations Unit of NiDCOM, Mr Abdur-Rahman Balogun, the Chairman/CEO, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), urged the government of the United States to conduct a thorough investigation into the circumstances leading to Salau’s death.
Dabiri-Erewa also condoled the family of the deceased and everyone bereaved by the news of Toyin’s passing.
She called the alleged murder of the 19-year-old Black Lives Matter activist, cruel and highly depressing.
Oluwatoyin Salau, went missing on June 6 after tweeting that a man assaulted her.
She had taken part in a Black Lives Matter protest earlier in the day and a man offered to give her a ride back to a church where she had sought “refuge” because of “unjust living conditions”.
