Temie Giwa-Tubosun is Cartier Women’s Initiative’s 2020 Laureate!

Congratulations to Temie Giwa-Tubosun!

The founder of Life Bank has been declared the 2020 Cartier Women’s Initiative’s Laureate for Sub-Saharan Africa, an honour which comes with a US$ 100,000 in grant.

Temie changed our world with the launch of her Life Bank, which presently has saved more than 7, 000 lives.

The medical distribution company uses data and technology to discover and deliver essential medical products to hospitals in Nigeria.

Last week, she and Funkola Odeleye of DIYLaw were shortlisted as finalists. Now, she has been announced the winner.

The Cartier Women’s Initiative is an annual international entrepreneurship programme that aims to drive change by empowering women impact entrepreneurs. Founded in 2006, the programme is open to women-run and women-owned businesses from any country and sector that aim to have a strong and sustainable social and/or environmental impact.

In addition to the 7 existing Regional Awards, the initiative has launched the Science & Technology Pioneer Award, a new thematic category for the 2021 edition that aims to support women impact entrepreneurs at the forefront of scientific and technological innovation.
