Chelsea star considering quitting Blues in blockbuster transfer development
According to reports on Wednesday morning, Chelsea’s star striker Timo Werner could be preparing to quit the Blues, less than 12-months after joining.
Werner, 25, arrived in London last summer following a £47.7m move from Bundesliga side RB Leipzig.
Despite arriving with the reputation of being one of Europe’s most prolific strikers, Werner has struggled to replicate some of his best form.
After featuring in 27 Premier League matches, under both former manager Frank Lampard as well as current boss Thomas Tuchel, Werner has managed to net just five goals.
The German’s poor performances have seen him come in for some intense criticism from both pundits and fans alike.
However, according to a recent report from Football Insider, the 25-year-old could already be eyeing the Stamford Bridge exit.
Despite signing a bumper five-year deal only last summer, Football Insider claims that the German is already preparing to ‘return home’ within the ‘next year, or two’.
