Nigeria Records 346 New Cases Of COVID-19, Total Hits 159252

 


As the battle against COVID-19 continues, Nigeria has recorded 346 new cases of deadly virus in 17 states and the federal capital territory, Abuja.

This was announced by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) in its daily update on Tuesday March 9.

According to the health agency, Lagos state recorded the highest number of positive cases of the deadly virus which is 86.

Breakdown of positive COVID-19 cases in other states is as follow:

Bauchi-64, Kaduna-26, Kwara-26, FCT-24, Rivers-23, Plateau-22, Ogun-16, Ebonyi-14, Bayelsa-12, Cross River-10, Edo-8, Akwa Ibom-5, Ekiti-3, Gombe-2, Kano-2, Osun-2, Delta-1.

There are now 159,252 confirmed cases of Coronavirus in the country and 1,988 deaths have been recorded. 139,056 patients who recovered from the disease have also been discharged.

In other news, MuchTalksBlog reported that Minister of State for Health, Olorunnimbe Mamora, has said the federal government won't force any state to accept Covid19 vaccines, considering the fact that the nation don’t even have enough vaccines to go round.

Mamora stated this on Tuesday while reacting to Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello’s statement that he won’t take the vaccines.

Bello has repeatedly said he won’t take the vaccines, adding that residents of his state are not “guinea pigs”.
