Leicester City’s Iheanacho Sets New Personal Scoring Record In Premier League
Leicester City forward, Kelechi Iheanacho, set a new personal scoring record as they thrashed West Brom 3-0 on Thursday night in the Premier League.
It was the Nigeria’s ninth goal of the season.
This means Iheanacho has now surpassed his previous record of eight goals in a campaign, which he achieved after 26 matches while at Manchester City in the 2015/2016 season.
Jamie Vardy opened the scoring at the King Power Stadium, before Johnny Evans headed in for 2-0.
In the 36th minute, Iheanacho controlled Vardy’s cross and put the game beyond the Baggies.
The goal also took the Super Eagles star’s tally to 13 goals in all competitions in 2021.
Across all competitions, Iheanacho has scored 16 goals for the Foxes – nine in the Premier League with three and four goals in the Europa League and the FA Cup, respectively.
