The newly appointed Director of the National Orientation Agency, Oyo state chapter, Mrs. Folake Ayoola has called on Nigerian workers to take their duties seriously and prioritize the right work ethic in the dissemination of their duties.
This admonition was made in a press release made available to the press by the National Orientation Agency.
The Director urged the labour union to redouble its efforts to improve Nigeria’s economy, saying: “Now that the country’s economy has nearly kissed the dust, it behoves the Nigerian labour force to work assiduously to put it back on right footing”
.
Mrs. Ayoola said that this is a time for sober reflection as the world is still reeling from the effects of the pandemic that has claimed millions of lives in the past year.
In her words: “We, as the good people of this great nation, have to be proactive in our approach to straightening the economy that is on the bend because of the COVID. Those who lead the pack today are not only open to change but the new paradigms.”
She also mentioned the unsettling state of insecurity in the country and urged people to always report suspicious people/activities in their environment to the relevant security agents.
She further praised the Oyo State government for the measures taken to fight insecurity in the state by making sure all the relevant security agencies work together and sounded a note of warning that no meaningful development can take place without social order.
She subsequently urged the residents of Oyo state to continue in this vein.
She rounded up her statement by wishing the Oyo State Governor, Engr ‘Seyi Makinde, and the labour union the best on this workers’ day and prayed that all their efforts to save the state and country would prove fruitful.
