Pretoria Student Falls Seven Floors To His Death
The student was allegedly pushed from the seventh floor by two suspects at Wall Flat in Arcadia early on Saturday morning.
Sunnyside police have arrested two men who allegedly pushed an 18-year-old student from the seventh floor of a building in Arcadia on Saturday morning, reports Pretoria East Rekord .
The two men were arrested on Sunday afternoon after police worked tirelessly throughout the night trying to locate them, said Sunnyside police spokesperson Captain Daniel Mavimbela.
“The two suspects are believed to have been involved in an altercation with an 18-year-old college student shortly before the latter was allegedly pushed from the seventh floor at Wall Flat in Arcadia, east of Pretoria, during the early hours of Saturday morning.”
Mavimbela said the victim was treated at a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries later that day.
“According to an eyewitness account, the victim was involved in an argument with the suspects before he was pushed.”
Local police commander Brigadier Ramakamakama Kekana commended the officers who ensured that the suspects were brought to book within 72 hours.
“Informers and other members of the community must also be thanked for providing us information that led to both the identification and apprehension of the suspects,” said Kekana.
The suspects, aged 23 and 27, are expected to be charged with murder and will appear in the Pretoria Magistrate Court soon.
