R. Kelly Denies Claims That He Slept With Aaliyah’s Mother
R. Kelly has denied claims that he slept with Aaliyah’s mother, Diane Haughton.
The rumour was stirred by one of his alleged victims, Lisa Van Allen, who said the disgraced Chicago singer admitted to having sex Diane.
“He said when Aaliyah went to sleep, he would go in the living room and him and her would do sexual acts on the couch while Aaliyah was sleeping in the bedroom,” she said.
Now Kelly has denied this, just as he denies all the charges against him.
Sources close to Kelly told TMZ the singer is denying Allen’s accusation he slept with Haughton, but maintain that him and Haughton were good friends. Kelly reportedly believes Allen made the claims in an attempt to smear his name.
And this comes amid the outrage that followed after Lifetime’s Surviving R. Kelly docuseries shed light on Kelly’s relationship with the late Aaliyah, who was only 15 years old when she married the singer. His attorney, Steve Greenberg, has said that Aaliyah lied about her age, while Allen and numerous others have said that Kelly coerced Aaliyah into signing paperwork that claimed she was 18.
Multiple people who worked with Kelly and Aaliyah have stated they saw the two engaging in sexual contact. He was the lead songwriter and producer of her first album, Age Ain’t Nothing but a Number, when she 14.
