United's Anthony Martial Hit With Another Injury... Missed Out On France Call Up

Manchester United striker Anthony Martial has been withdraw from France’s international squad after suffering a knee injury.

Martial was withdrawn after the game between United and Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday night during the 2-1 defeat, when the striker felt a pain in his right knee which has caused recurring pain.

The injury to the France international means he will miss his country’s European Championship qualifiers against Moldova and Iceland in the coming days.

That means that United have a number of injury concerns going into the tail end of the Champions League and Premier League fixtures.

Romelu Lukaku was out injured with a foot problem for the game against Wolves, and he is not going to play for Belgium in their upcoming fixtures, though it is not thought to be a serious problem.

There are other worries too, as Alexis Sanchez could be out for the rest of the season after hurting his knee ligaments, meaning he may have played his last game for the club with persistent rumours over his future.

United’s next game is against Watford in the Premier League, which will give them a chance to advance up the table. If Spurs and Arsenal lose their next games then three points for United would take them third, ahead of Spurs on goal difference.
