Doctors Of Ondo State Commence An Indefinite Strike After Months Of Work Without Pay

 

Ondo state, home of some Nigerian celebrities like Yemi Alade and Reekado Banks, is going through a phase that may cause the loss of many lives.

News going viral says that doctors under the supervision of the National Association of Resident Doctors and the University of Medical Sciences Teaching Hospital commenced on an indefinite strike today 9th November 2020 after several months of work without pay.

The doctors who had gone on a one-week warning strike were rather disappointed as the government refused to listen to their plea. The Acting President of the National Association of Resident Doctors, UNIMEDTH Ondo, Dr. Sanni Oriyomi said he and his colleagues could work no more as the government owed them four and a half months salaries plus COVID-19 allowances and other entitlements.
