Zamfara State Governor, Bello Matawalle Promises To Keep Negotiating With Bandits

 

The Governor of Zamfara state, Bello Matawalle, has announced to the public that his administration will not stop negotiations with the bandits in the state.

The governor disclosed this while receiving 26 kidnapped girls who were released through a peace dialogue with bandits. The girls were reportedly abducted in Faskari Local Government Area of Katsina State before been brought to Zamfara.

According to reports, the 26 little girls who had been rescued were between the ages of 8 and 12. The victims have also been medically examined and given new set of clothing.

While maintaining that the peace dialogue is making progress, Matawalle stated,

 “THIS IS A TESTIMONY TO OUR VISION FOR ENGAGING THE BANDITS IN PEACE DIALOGUE. FOR THOSE WHO BELIEVE WE ARE WRONG TO DIALOGUE WITH THE BANDITS, THE SECURING OF THESE MINORS WHO ARE ALL GIRLS, UNHURT, IS INDEED PRICELESS.”
