Hushpuppi Saga: IGP Orders Investigation Into Claims Leveled Against DCP Abba Kyari

 

In the fraud case against Instagram celebrity Ramoni Abbas alias Hushpuppi, the Inspector-General of Police, Alkali Baba, has ordered an internal assessment of the claims filed against one of the Nigeria Police Force’s personnel, DCP Abba Kyari.

According to one of the court documents obtained by the FBI, Kyari accepted a bribe from Hushpuppi in order to facilitate the arrest and imprisonment of Chibuzo Vincent, a member of his internet fraud ring.

According to a statement made by the police force’s spokesperson, Frank Mba, the police chief has now launched an internal investigation into the claims. According to the force, it is dedicated to the pursuit of justice as well as the improvement of professional partnerships with the FBI. The police department also vowed to keep the public informed as the case progressed.

”Following the receipt of allegation and indictment processes from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) against one of the personnel of the Nigeria Police Force, DCP Abba Kyari in the Hushpuppi scam ongoing investigation into the Inspector General of Police IGP Usman Alkali Baba psc (+), NPM, fdc has ordered an internal review of the allegations.

The Nigeria Police Force reaffirms its commitment to the pursuit of justice and the strengthening of its professional relationship with the FBI and other international partners.
