COVID-19: Nigeria toll hits 21,371 after 452 new cases
Nigeria on Tuesday recorded 452 fresh cases of coronavirus (COVID-19), bringing the total number of infections in the country to 21,371.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) announced this on Tuesday night via its verified Twitter handle.
According to the NCDC, the new cases were recorded in 13 states of the country and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
Lagos, the epicentre of the pandemic in Nigeria, leads other states with 209 cases, followed by Oyo with 67 cases and Delta with 37 cases.
Similarly, Ogun recorded 36 cases, Abia (20), Enugu (16), Bauchi (15), Kaduna and Ondo recorded 8 cases respectively, Osun (7) with Benue and Imo each recording (3) cases.
The specialist health agency said so far a total of 7,338 patients have been discharged after recovering from the virus while the death toll reached 533 after 8 new fatalities.
