UFC urged to strip Conor McGregor of No 4 ranking

The UFC have been told it would only be right if Conor McGregor was removed from the official rankings following his retirement.
McGregor announced for the third time in four years that he would be retiring from the sport earlier this month.
The Notorious, however, is still the No 4 ranked lightweight in UFC and Gilbert Burns feels that ranking should be taken away.
Gilbert Burns believes McGregor should be taken off the UFC rankings after his retirement
Burns, who will take on Kamaru Usman for the welterweight belt at UFC 252, believes McGregor should face the same treatment as Henry Cejudo, who vacated his bantamweight title after retiring last month.
Burns tweeted: ‘Cejudo retired they took him out of the rankings very quickly let’s do it with Connor (sic) as well!’
Others in the sport have questioned how it will fill the void that McGregor will leave behind him.

Heavyweight Daniel Cormier has said the UFC must do everything in their power to keep hold of McGregor.
McGregor retired after claiming nothing in the sport excites him anymore but Cormier suggests UFC isn’t much without the 31-year-old.
He said: ‘Everything’s just bigger when he competes. And the whole aspect of that is gone when he fights in front of no fans,’ Cormier said on the DC and Helwani show.
‘So I get why there’s a little hesitancy there. But it’s not worth risking losing him for the long term because you can’t make him happy right now.
‘You gotta figure it out, you gotta make it happen. Again it’s not worth the penalty if he walks away. It’s not worth it, you gotta make it work for him.’
