Youth Reps Boycotts Lagos Judicial Panel Sitting After FG’s Order To Freeze Account Of Some Protesters And Organisations
The youth representatives on the Lagos judicial panel, boycotted the panel sitting held yesterday due to the federal government’s decision to freeze the accounts of some protesters.
The Nigerian Central bank has been tasked to freeze the accounts of some 20 individuals and organisations who played major roles in the ENDSARS protest.
Owners of Gatefield Company limited who provided funds for the coverage of the protest have had their Access Bank account frozen.
The CEO of Anakle Editi Effiong, who was at the venue said: “The government gave the impression that it wants to attend to the demands of the protesters. The President and the Vice president pleaded with the young people to suspend the protest and called for a dialogue. For us to now see the same government arresting people, freezing accounts…”
